The demonstrations marked the two year anniversary of genocide day, 25th August 2017, when persecution and violence against the Rohingya by the state forces of Myanmar forced over 700,000 of them to flee their homes in Rakhine state and move to refugee camps in Bangladesh.

At least a 100,000 Rohingya marched in the Kutupalong refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, the largest refugee camp in the world.
