Australia is seeing the worst bushfires in decades and the government response has been far from adequate. The fire season began in July and has till now claimed 24 lives, destroyed 2,000 homes and burned down more than 7.3 million hectares of land. Despite assurances, very little resources have been allotted to the firefighters, and the government under prime minister Scott Morrison is also ignoring the climate change aspect.
