Anti-fascists resist annual neo-Nazi gathering in Hungary

Fascist groups had gathered to commemorate the Nazis killed during the 1945 Siege of Budapest by the Soviet Army.

On February 9, hundreds of anti-fascists and leftist students organized a march to counter a gathering by fascist groups in Budapest to commemorate the Nazis killed in 1945 Siege of Budapest. The Siege of Budapest was a major operation during the Budapest Offensive by the Soviet Army during World War II. The Nazis and their allies surrendered to Soviet Army on February 13 and provided a strategic victory for the Red Army in their push towards Berlin.
